I was happy when the mets signed him to that 1st minor league deal, but I think the 3yr-$36mil was a little much for a guy who had a good season, but nothing outstanding. However, the market for pitchers, unfortunately, usually dictates what even the "par" pitchers will gain. And in a good ECONOMIC year for teams, that threshold is typically much higher than normal. All in all, I believe Ollie received what the market called for for a pitcher of his caliber (or at the very least because of the year he had).
